On Tuesday 13th October we became aware of an issue on our systems. During our investigation it transpired that we have been a victim of a cyber attack. As soon as we identified the attack, our team worked to contain it. We are now working with a specialist cyber security firm to investigate the attack and recover affected systems. This work is ongoing.
We have reported the attack to law enforcement and the relevant authorities.
At present, the extent of the attack is not known. It is localised to our London and Replication servers, any accounts on SAFE C2C, or those using any of the world servers will continue to work as normal.
We have spoken to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), the latter are now conducting a criminal investigation. We are also working with a third party, recommended by the NCSC, to try to resolve this issue.
