Veeam Cloud Copy Job

A Veeam Copy Job is simple to setup, you set us up as a Service Provider in 5 quick steps and then configure a copy job to send as many copies of the data to us to store over a secure connection. Should anything happen to your onsite platform or backups, we have a copy of the data for you to download.

Veeam Cloud Replica Job

The first steps for the Veeam Replica Job are the same as Copy, you just need to configure us as a Service Provider in Veeam, select the Replica Option, choose your VM’s and then start the replication task. Once fully Replicated to us, you will have the option to failover the VM to our infrastructure where it will then create a secure connection back to your site , thus presenting the failed server back to you.

Veeam Cloud Copy Job

If you have Veeam Licencing already, you can use this or you can rent it from us. If the former, there is a small Veeam charge for us to receive your data and if the latter, it is included for free. Once you are setup and running on our systems, you can enjoy unlimited free UK Support Services and you are only ever committed to a 30 day rolling contract.

If you need to invoke DR on up to 3 of your servers, this is free of charge for 5 days.

SAFE DR FAQs

Where will my data be stored?

Your data is stored in our two UK based data centres; our primary is in London, and this is replicated to Bournemouth. Both data centres are ISO 27001 accredited.

Where is your support based?

All our support is based in the UK, in an office just outside London.

How do I contact you?

We are contactable via phone or email, and we have an online chat on the website.

Will our Veeam backups be secure?

Using Veeam Encryption your backup data is encrypted at source and will remain that way at rest on our servers. Your data is also sent using Veeam secure connection to our Cloud Connect Servers

I currently use Veeam, can I use SDS as my Cloud Backup
provider without starting again?

Yes, simply create an account with us and add us as your Veeam Service Provider. You can then start copying your data to us via Cloud Connect.

What can I backup with SAFE DR?

SAFE DR is predominantly a full image backup, for physical, HyperV and VMWare systems.

Can I set a shorter retention to my Veeam Cloud Backups?

Yes, and this is recommended as you would really only use your cloud copy that we hold for a DR scenario, but of course you are in control of this setting.

What happens if we have an insider or hacker attack on our system and they delete our local backups, can they also
delete our offsite copies?

We protect your offsite copies using Veeam Insider Protection which protects you from your data from attacks like this.

Are there any speed restrictions?

Like all our services, we never restrict upload and download speeds or the amount of data you transfer. You can add restrictions if desired.

Is SDS Secure?

Yes, we are proud to be ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 accredited. ISO 9001 is an international standard that shows we have quality management systems in place to consistently provide products and customer service of the highest quality. ISO 27001 is a certification that assesses businesses on their management processes for keeping data secure. We also have security certifications from Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials PLUS. As well as being registered with ICO (Information Commissioners Office) for Data Protection.

Do you have any Education Specific accreditations?

Yes, our backup services are accredited for SIMS in line with the guidance set out for the backup and restore of the SIMS and FMS databases. We are also a member of the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA).
